Mistakes Students make every year
Mistakes Students make every year
1.Not learning how to learn
As you see most of the students when they start their new session they start from the page first or from chapter first and making notes and start highlighting the things. Making notes and highlighting the things are ok but the main thing is how much you learn and understand. By this way we can't memorize the things even after next day we forget the things which we had learnt pervious day. And this is known as forgetting curve (which means we forget some percentage of things after a specific time with increasing rate). And after forgetting things students revise their notes by reading, I think which has no importance. And the things which makes studies interesting are the concepts like Active Recall, Space Repetition, Over Leaning, Categorizing etc. So in coming blog I will explain these things in detail. So remain in connected...
2.Thinking study as Single person game
Second biggest mistake students make is they think study as single person game and in beginning of the year they lock themselves in a room and cut all the contacts with friends and they choose the study as single person game. If I tell my story the persons who were studying with me in 10th became invisible in 11th. About 80% of my friends not seemed after last paper. And when I came to know they all locked themselves in a room and preparing for exams like NEET and JEE it's not wrong to prepare for an exam but taking the pledge of being alone is I think wrong. And that's why most of the students got depressed during studies and after if they can't compete. If we make it fun and if we started enjoying studies through group study or study with a friend it will be become easy to cover our vast syllabus and their will be no laziness etc. And it has scientific proof also to study in group (study individually but with group in a room). It's called relational energy to study with more persons in a room or in a park etc.
3.Not realising how your health is important
So most of the students lock themselves in a room or getting coaching in day and nights gone with self study or with overthinking etc. They give less importance to health. Avoiding sugar and junks are important things to remain healthy. Daily exercise (or 8000-10000 steps daily are important) to making your body fit. And also students consume a lot of caffeine ( Tea, coffee) to avoid their sleep and continuing study for long nights. Due to which we are becoming more lazy and can't focus on studies. Also it's important to take care of mental health and during exams the students take a lot of burden due to which they become the victim of mental health. In coming points I will explain how to avoid these situations. . .
4.Cramming Deadlines
So one my friend is telling me often “exam ka dinu ma padhega” . So some other group of students are those who spends their time on useless things ( or completely waste their time). And they relay on this fact we will study in exam days and pass the exam. So reality is they become victim of pressure, stress, anxiety and even depression. In last days they took a lot of burden on their mind so they forget their mental health also. Other disadvantage of this thing is student can't understand things properly as he is putting his energy to memorize the things for exam. And that's why, first mistake students doesn't learn how to learn.
5.Having rigid mindset about life and Career
So in today's world where we can pursue any career without any hurdles the students had made rigid choices (school after Collage after university). In my region the first and only choice of a student is to crack NEET and get admission in Govt Medical College. It's good trying to get admission in GMC but it's not fair to make it first and last choice of their career. I think the the reason behind this is councilling, the most of the students are not aware about different careers. Nor they try to meet councillor, teacher or any other elder. They follow the trend and start preparing for any exam/or pursue any stream without having clear vision, goal etc. And that's the problem the students doesn't have clear guidance. And students afraid to try different and new experimental things. I think taking new experience is impossible
" Every experiment that you run on yourself, gives
you data about where you really want to go"
6.Narrow their career choices
Students make this mindset that they can do job only based on their degree. May be I am wrong but it's true todays market want skilled (employable) people. In todays world soft skills are became important aspect of getting jobs. In coming blogs we will discuss about skills, careers etc. So the students are thinking about what job I do with my degree instead of this if we think about what sort of life I want to have and do some questioning to himself like “Dream life look like”, “ What sort of work you like to be doing “, “ When you like to come home” and then if you start reverse engineering things will become easy for you and you can find best career choice for you.
7.Squadering Enormous amount of free time at school
So many students waste their free time. If we use this free time in sports or in any side hustle. I think the biggest enemy of a student in nowadays is scrolling. Short content is ruining the lives of students especially emotional short content. If you don't know how emotional short content and songs are making people depression so remain connected in coming days we will discuss about these things also. Learning any skill in free time is worth it. As you know I am a full time learner, with my school I am continuously learning skill, making content on YouTube and managing other platforms also like Instagram, Facebook, Quora and Telegram.. It's true the growth is slow but it will reach on desired position with time and action inshallah. So if you are also wasting your free time so it's the time to start you side hustle if you need some sort of help you can contact through email given below.
8.Not remaining spiritually connected
Last and most important thing is remaining spiritually connected. Once in a class of physical education sir told us a question that if a person is in stess or in depression what should he do first to overcome this? Everyone replied differently one says he has share his problems, one he has to engage in business etc where he remain etc. So then sir told that first and foremost thing to do is to remain spiritually connected (it's not sir is saying this own, but American Psychological Association says this). So remaining spiritually connected means worshipping to Almighty Allah, praying 5 times salah and understanding quran is important. Which makes your hearts beautiful, which gives you inner peace, sukoon and also leads to a good person and also makes your way to jannah. Inshallah
